Why At Home?
There exists this phenomenon known in the veterinary profession called "white coat syndrome," where a becomes fearful at the sight of a doc's lab coat. For this reason, some vets will remove their coat prior to walking into a room with a "nervous nelly". I would like to think this effort is appreciated, but ultimately we can all agree that most pets are stressed, on some level, at the vet. As soon as your pet crosses the threshold of a typical busy veterinary establishment, their anxiety levels increase in response to negative pheromones. Pheromones are chemicals that cannot be appreciated by people, but serve as instinctual cues to help animals survive. In some situations they serve as chemical messengers to alert animals that trouble lies ahead. By providing in-home care we by-pass the pheromone exposure of the vet visit, and the patient can be most comfortable. There is also the added benefit of having the client be able to grieve in the privacy of their own home. In our opinion, pet hospice and euthanasia should not be conducted in the hospital setti
Our Philosophy
We feel it is only right to give the client a call when we are on our way, and to always communicate effectively with every step. We understand that judgment is the last thing you need right now. Our goal is to always eliminate as much stress as possible on the client, and most importantly the pet. We strongly believe that it is our duty to address pain, reduce anxiety, educate, and provide a peaceful experience. We truly believe it's an honor to work with families and their pets through quality pet hospice and pet euthanasia.
